Linkin Park - moving forward. apnews.com/article/l…
Hope they put out more fresh work quick and soon, so that Emily can get not judged on how she can’t do what Chester did on tour.
Rob’s going to be missed on the drums though.
Trying to extract all my photos / videos in their original resolution from both Google Photos and iCloud has been a outright nightmare.
Once I am done with all of it, hope I am left with a semblance of patience to write about it.
Saw our elementary school’s designated Police Officer after the summer break at the Open House. I felt he’d lost a lot of weight, slimmed down substantially so I mentioned that since we usually riff about something.
He replied that this was the first time I’d seen him without his vest on.
Pillowforts are fun
Interesting afternoon yesterday to say the least. Casual weather forecast of light rain for a couple hours, within 30 minutes turned into a full blown Tornado warning with sirens blaring while we hunkered down in the basement from 80mph gusts with hail sized rain and lightning.
2 hours later it was a clear starlit night. Midwest is chaos.
USMNT Copa America match, Debate chaos and to add it all, a relief thunderstorm after close to 3 weeks of heat ended up shortening the Airport drop off plans - Waze started incrementing the ETA through Midtown ATL by 10 minutes, once every 5 minutes.
MARTA drop-off FTW.
Houston we have a problem
The Houston transmission line damage pictures all over the internet were apparently in my cousin’s backyard in a new development they moved into just last year.
Given the nature of the damage, they are moving out of town indefinitely with no realistic ETA for power restoration.
Named Aurora after the Solar Flares. Couldn’t see one because the solar flares badly affected my health after an afternoon in the sun.
Feel sorry for Coventry fans. They made it happen for the team with the constant support throughout.
For a small airport like what Austin is, it’s got amazing choice of food, beverage, desserts and coffee.

Kiddo got sick last night. Some sort of stomach bug and was losing a lot of fluids. I got some fresh coconuts to give him coconut water
They were very good, so I opened them up for the tender coconut inside. Dongsira performed his vacuum duty and picked up a few pieces that had fallen off the island. Figured the halves would be a good distraction for dogs.
I planted some bulbs yesterday, and a freeze warning showed up for tonight. False spring strikes again.
Commentator's Curse
Wednesday morning at school drop-off, Kiddo looking at the Carplay Apple Maps, called out that the internal roads within the school complex were missing. My explanation to him was centered around privacy and we talked about restricted access buildings and possible safety issues around information access.
Thursday morning at school drop-off, the entire school was mapped out to the last millimeter on Apple Maps.
Rivian shot a bullet through Subaru with today’s announcements. Outback/Forrester clientele would be prime markets for R2 and Crosstek for R3.
Of course Rivian still have to ship these but the Solterra slip up now seems even worse for Subaru.
Apple Vision Pro Demo - First thoughts
The immersive experience demo at the end is probably where it’s at for both monetization as well as the peak of what this device can deliver, especially the speakers and display.
Maybe I’m wrong, and the spatial computing aspect kicks on to be a revolution, and compared to the Quest 2 usage and original Oculus Rift demo at the Microsoft store, one can see how well the VisionOS UI is done with the gaze/attention detection that is very well the right direction, but boy those sports demos were surreal, especially the MB Stadium ATL UTD one given that I’ve experienced the real one from that very angle.
