The Beginning of It All

Humanity fantasizes about the notion of pure innocence, yet the loss of such innocence is essential for survival and progression. In all that we strive for during our lives, the aim is survival, but the yearning is always to return to a state of peace, a peace attained on returning to such innocence.

Religion and Nations and Corporations are today's arbiters of that promise, ones that have learned to package and market that need. In another time, it might have just been some tribes or civilizations. At another time, it might have been some variants of the early modern humans and primates—another time... as one would continue to go back down the path of evolution.

The first two entities that learnt (by design) or exhibited (by randomness) the behavior to relate with another, to not distrust and kill it at sight, but instead to observe and learn the other's behavior, prioritize and market what they bring to the table, to make it seem like a beneficial situation for the both of us, the negotiation and skill to co-operate on the definition.

The beauty of it all, to witness it happen, discover the meaning of it, the beginning of it all.

This was written as an attempt at beginning to write fiction. I’ve realized most of my personal writing now is a description of things as they’ve occurred to me and how I’ve felt about it, either in the moment or in retrospect. I want to change that this year.
